Painter Claire Evelyn Hope announces her upcoming solo exhibition, Amor Fati, a powerful showcase of large-scale abstract works exploring themes of expansion and self making.

The exhibition follows a significant evolution in Hope’s practice . Moving from small, restricted studies to commanding 3-metre canvases, the work has lead a two-year journey of self discovery.

 

Each piece is a record of an emotional journey made real, created through a rigorous process of "playful failure" where intuition leads and logic fades.

The 3x2 meter centrepiece, "THE DRAGON" captures this expansive freedom and the decision to seek what lies off the edge the map. Inspired by the unencumbered creativity of young minds, the work is a call to protect our collective need to express and our capacity to grow. The exhibition features "Tiny Dragon" matchboxes created by children, with all proceeds from these items donated to CAMHS.

"This practice has been my unlocking. I am so grateful to the charity OuterSpaces for providing a studio space that has allowed the works and myself to expand. Their support has been fundamental to me to finding a vast freedom within the painting process. I am honoured to be donating a portion of exhibition sales back to OuterSpaces to support their vital work for the arts community".

Amor Fati is not just an exhibition of abstract painting; it is a reminder of the power found in the simple decision to just try.
